This paper discusses the distribution of the rare plant species Linaria cretacea in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, with an emphasis on the electronic herbarium data. The study aims to clarify the range of this species, especially in the Aktobe region, where chalk slopes create favorable conditions for its habitat. Analysis of the herbarium data demonstrated that Linaria cretacea has a limited but significant distribution, with major finds in Kazakhstan, as well as in Russia and Ukraine. The paper emphasizes the importance of chalk ecosystems for the growth of this species and describes the ecological conditions that facilitate its distribution. As a result of field studies, habitats were identified, which indicates the need for regular monitoring and updating of data on the status of populations. The work also focuses on the vulnerability of Linaria cretacea to anthropogenic impacts and climate change, emphasizing the need to develop measures to protect rare plant species. The results of the study open new directions for future research, including the study of genetic diversity and interactions of Linaria cretacea with other species, which will allow more effective development of strategies for the conservation and restoration of this rare species.
